LifeCenter Plus Health and Fitness Club will open its doors to the public to present an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) demonstration and a Bullyproofing demonstration, on January 26. The MMA demonstration will focus on fitness through martial arts techniques. The Bullyproofing demonstration will be offered as an effective solution for students to handle bullies with confidence and high self-esteem.
Were excited to present two demonstrations that combat not one, but two current epidemics: obesity and bullying, said Jerry Lynch, co-owner of LifeCenter Plus. MMA offers a great weight loss and fitness solution for everyone. In addition to strengthening your core, it provides self-defense training and increases focus.
The MMA demonstration consists of various styles including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwan Do, boxing and wrestling. Instructor Rob Greathouse, a black belt in Yuen Shen, will show body movements for muscle toning and fat burning in addition to describing how MMA improves self-esteem and focus.
Rob Greathouse will also present the LCP Anti-Bully Solution demonstration to offer techniques for students to non-violently deal with bullies. The program provides them with needed confidence and self-esteem. Bullying is a huge issue that affects everyone, said Lynch. It harms the victim, bystanders, bullies and is disruptive to any environment. Our Anti-Bully class is similar to the Gracie Bullyproof program that is designed to help handle those difficult situations. It teaches non-violent approaches, while improving self confidence, attitude and respect for ones self and others.
The demonstrations are free and open to the public. They both take place on Saturday, January 26 at LifeCenter Plus. The MMA demonstration is from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the LCP Anti-Bully Solution demonstration is from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
LifeCenter Plus will offer ongoing MMA and LCP Anti-Bully Solution classes two days a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, beginning in February for members and nonmembers. Contact LifeCenter Plus for times, room locations and more information.
