Breast enlargements are the most-popular cosmetic surgery procedure in the UK for a reason says Cosmetic Surgery Guru website

Audit figures from the recent British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons reveal that breast enlargements are the most-popular cosmetic surgery procedure in the UK. A total of 10,015 people had their chest enhanced in 2011 alone with numbers up by 8.2 per cent but one cosmetic surgery website has claimed these statistics are not surprising.

According to Cosmetic Surgery Guru, boob jobs are in high demand for a reason. Not only can they change the size, shape and look of a womans assets, says the site, but they can also improve the chest after weight-loss and pregnancy which could explain why so many women are opting for surgery.

Isabella Franklin, a spokeswoman for the site, said: Breast augmentation surgery is available at reputable clinics across the UK and can have both physical and psychological benefits. Although it is a major operation, with all the risks you could expect from other surgeries, it can transform a womans confidence and that is important.

She continued: Breasts can change dramatically during the course of a womans life and sometimes not for the better. Pregnancy, for instance, can cause the breasts to droop and sag, but a boob job can solve the problem. Similarly, if a woman has lost a lot of weight, she might suffer from baggy or loose skin, but this can also be rectified with surgery.

During a breast enlargement operation, breast implants are entered into the chest by a highly-trained surgeon. The size and shape of the implants are discussed at a pre-surgery consultation and are specifically chosen to meet the wants, tastes and needs of each patient. The nipples are then repositioned if necessary, the wounds closed and the patient left to recover.

After surgery, a strict aftercare regime is a must. Bandages and dressings must be changed regularly and any medication must be monitored properly. While the patient is usually allowed home after several days, they should contact their surgeon if there is a problem and refrain from exercise until they feel better.

As well as acknowledging the benefits of surgery, Cosmetic Surgery Guru has also praised asset-enhancing underwear. According to the site, the right lingerie can do wonders for a womans self -esteem and is a great alternative to surgery. This viewpoint has recently been backed up by a Manchester-based study which revealed that a push-up bra can boost confidence levels by 75 per cent.
